The topic today is fractured fairy-tales! I love these interesting books in all their fairy-tail-ness. Some examples of these are the following: When Rose Wakes, Cinder, Just Ella. I love all these books. i have a few ideas for novels such as these. (On of which is indeed the sleeping beauty idea. Look for it more than a few posts back.) The other, more developed idea I had was Henry and Ginny. As you may have already guessed, it is based on Hansel and Gretel. the brother and sister live in a time of war, were all weak children are sent away. Ginny loves her brother dearly, and knows they will be split up if she shows her talent for fighting. Because even though Ginny is a near perfect warrior, her brother and dearest friend has a club foot.(That is what a club foot looks like. Not very pleasant.)  She and her brother get sent to camp where they meet some other fairy tale characters. They currently don't have names, but here they are. Rapunzel; A huge Klutz, and always tripping over her tangled dirty blond hair. Cinderella; A boy, he is extreamly short for his age and used to being treated like a slave. He has gained a fighting spirit that stays strong in the bleakest situations. Snow White; She seems perfect. Beautiful, strong, cruel, and ruthless. Everyone wonders exactly why she is at camp.
And that is just about it. Tell me any advice or ideas you have!

Here is another story idea:
Earth War I
In they burst, smashing through our door. Everyone was panicking and I could hear almost nothing over the din of breaking furniture, hearts, and bones. The soldiers were being merciless, treating the women and children just as badly as they were treating the men. I whipped my head around, dodging the bullets that filled the air. A clear voice rang out, the voice of my father. “Maria! Take your supplies and go! To the safe house, quickly!”
I ran to the room I shared with twenty others and reached my bed. It was surprisingly empty here. Then again, no one would be in bed at this hour. I pulled the stuffed backpack from under my bed and ran out again. I paused for a moment at the door and whispered a goodbye to the place I knew I would never see again.
When I got out of the room I was thrown to the floor. Facing me was one of my friends. My best friend actually. She was staring at me, but she did not see.“Callista,”I whispered, distraught. I was looking at the still warm body of my dead best friend, her blond hair falling over her dirty face. Her dirty fingernails still gripped the sketchbook she had so loved in life.
I was suddenly aware of thick boots kicking me. I lie very still and close my eyes, willing my heartbeat to disappear. “Sleepin’ ,” a gruff voice proclaimed above me. In my head I breathed a sigh of relief. I didn’t dare do it for real.
The men, in their black suits with their huge black guns, exited after they had confirmed that everyone was at least unconscious. Then they lit their torches and threw them through the windows.
I was surrounded by the fire. “I’m so sorry,” I whispered to the body in front of me as I took everything useful. I choked on the smoke that now filled the room and tried to find the door.

This would be the beginning of chapter one in 'Earth War I'. The story is about a girl trying to survive on a planet torn to bits by a terrible war. She does have some things going for her though, like the fact that she can make highly prized bombs. It would be a very emotional story with a message of how harrible war is. (I did not misspell horrible. That's what it's supposed to look like.) i also had another idea about some planet way off where they have a religion about the seven angels. The angels would turn out to be real, and from there it would be sort of like Percy Jackson. (If you haven't read that book book you fail!)
